Teaching RSE with Confidence in 2020

By using our new, updated resource, primary schools can be confident of meeting the Statutory Guidance for Relationships Education and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) which becomes mandatory from September 2020.

Designed for pupils from Reception to Year 6, Teaching RSE with Confidence in Primary Schools is a downloadable resource with schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching materials which address topics outlined in the Statutory Guidance. We have also included a comprehensive map showing where subjects listed in the guidance are met in a CWP lesson.

The overview below demonstrates the topic areas for each year group. Three detailed lesson plans are provided together with ideas and materials for follow up activities.

TeachSRE our training partners are running a one-day training course, providing participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to plan and deliver high quality, age appropriate Relationships and Sex Education in Primary Schools. How to ensure that you are ready for statutory RSE in September 2020

During the day we will cover:

·        Getting ready for statutory Relationships Education

·        Best classroom practice

·        Dealing with questions, setting ground rules and managing parental concerns

·        Developing age appropriate, whole school, RSE
